வாகன விபத்தில் மாணவன் படுகாயம்

கல்முனைத் தொகுதிக்கும் பொத்துவில் தொகுதிக்கும் எல்லை வீதியாக விளங்கும் மாளிகா வீதியில் நேற்று ஞாயிற்றுக்கிழமை மாலை இடம்பெற்ற வாகன விபத்தில் மாணவன் ஒருவன் பலத்த காயங்களுக்குள்ளான நிலையில் கல்முனை அஷ்ரப் ஞபகார்த்த வைத்தியசாலையின் அவசர சிகிச்சைப் பிரிவில் அனுமதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார்.

13 வயதான முஹம்மட் சாதிக் சஜான் என்ற மாணவனே இவ்வாறு விபத்தில் காயமடைந்த நிலையில் வைத்தியசாலையில் அனுமதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார்.

வீதியின் ஓரமாக நிறுத்தப்பட்டிருந்த காரின் கதவை சாரதி திடீரென திறந்தவேளையில், தனியார் வகுப்பிற்குச் சென்று விட்டு வீடு திரும்பிய மாணவன் காரின் கதவில் அடிபட்டு கீழே விழுந்தபோது, வீதியில் பயணித்துக் கொண்டிருந்த மோட்டார் சைக்கிளினால் குறித்த மாணவன் தாக்கப்பட்ட நிலையில் தலையில் பலத்த காயம் ஏற்பட்டது.

இந்த விபத்துச் சம்பவம் தொடர்பில் பொலிஸார் விசாரணைகளை மேற்கொண்டு வருகின்றனர்.

The way he has been routed from Sainthamaruth to Kalmunai base and then to Batticalloa is appalling, thanks to the ambulance driver as well who has taken his own family time in transit. All in all it has taken twelve hours for the patient to go through a CT scan alone and a (in)decision if he should be discharged with only dressing or not, another 16 hours. Bravo!
Even a child such as Sasan nowadays very well know that a head injury with vomiting is a pointer to severe disturbances in the nervous system and it should have been attended to with promptness and clever decision making. A phone call to Colombo or 119 would have provided the staff with clearer information as to which hospitals have had the right facility, and the child accordingly should have been transferred to.
Medical staff and also the administration are responsible for ensuring immediate medical care for innocent lives such as Sasan’s in the area. Would you care?
